This is a little misleading. They are actually pretty smart and have building up their country for a few years. Their goverment realized that they are a small country whose oil reserves will run out and they are positioning themselves to be THE place to go for the ultra-rich to vacation. So the build up isn't causing the rise in oil prices.
Unlike many countries, they are taking steps to insure their future and NOT relying on oil.
Cool video though. It's amazing the talent on the engineering people thay are using to design and build all of those custom islands.

Its prety cool to check out from sites like google earth and stuff

I saw a show about this on Nation Geographic a few years ago. A lot of big corporartions have already been buying office space there, and many multi-millionares and billionares have bought some of the homes being built or have been built. Like the old saying "build it and they will come"

What next - show all the cool stuff drug dealers have and try to convey empathy for the users? As others said, this is misleading, indeed. No mention is made regarding petroleum being traded based on futures, or the redevelopment of Dubai's governmental structure within the last 5-6 decades. I'm not taking sides, but videos like this are meant to obtain buy-in from the weak-minded.

People really shouldn't complain with them building up cause dubai hires a lot of contractors from the US paying them truckloads of money. But Saudi Arabia thats another story entirely I have no respect for those people.
