I hit a deer yesterday-not in the HHR

Guys,

A word of advice about deer.........if you see one, two more will be close behind.

I have an 07 Corvette, and am returning from gassing it up yesterday. I come around an off-ramp to see a buck standing on the edge of the road to the right. I slam on the brakes in plenty of time until I was going maybe 15mph. I beep beep at the deer, and sure enough he bolts in front of me.

What I didn't notice were the two female on his tail........#2 made it by but I was now too close to miss deer #3, bang!

I knocked her over but I don't think I did any major damage other than her pride.

I feared that the car would have damage but there wasn't even a smudge. A soft and aerodynamic front has benefits other than cutting through air it seems. I think both me and the deer learned something yesterday.

I used to have a Camaro and I bought it in perfect condition, except the front had a little spiderweb cracking thanks to the FG. The things had a long front end I guess the previous owner nosed up against something.

I had a 76 stingray L82 corvette with 40k miles on it last year, and when i got rear-ended the damage was worse just b/c it spread out and did that.. had to be replaced regardless but it looked worse than it prob was.

:)
I'm glad you didn't kill the dear however.. that was MY main concern .. haha

The usual female response - how are you? hows the animal? - Shows compassion and a caring nature

The usual guys response - hows the car? - Shows... not much

I can relate to this thread.
Deer #1 ran into my back door.

Deer #2 ran out from behind a semi in the opposite direction.

#3 Kicked my front bumper on his last jump.

#4 Ran into a small trailer was pulling.

#5 I stopped right as I hit the deer.

No damage #3,4,5.
