"Ice Road Truckers"

Does anyone else watch this program on The History Channel? These guys have got to be a little nuts, but it's good money if your luck holds and you don't have many mechanical problems! And of course, if you don't go thru the ice!

Yeah, I have been watching it, I don't know if I could do it.
They are definitely nuts. I would take one look at those big ass cracks and I would be done.

We watch it... well we TiVo it for viewing at a later time.

I was a little dissappointed in the first episode, they showed a map of Canada, and they labled Manitoba as Ontario. I know Ontario is big, but it ain't that bloody big!

Good series, though.

I was told in the 6th or 7th grade by my History teacher (cool dude) about this "ice road" that they drive on. Apparently it's by or on the Hudson Bay. I never really knew it to be true until this show came on... Damn, those guys are crazy!!

After we watched this one night seeing several episodes, I'd have to say anyone who does it is a bit more then crazy. One driver stated that he drives for more then 48 hours in one stretch. I've driven over the road in all kinds of weather and its tough enough in good weather with normal traffic to drive 12 hours straight. Not to mention the laws in the US prohibit driving these hours for good reason. I don't think any amount of money is worth the risk to others on the roads.: guns:

I saw the previews and thought they were nuts so I never watched an episode. Have any trucks sunk into the ice yet?

I watch this show religously lol. Its actually become a "family thing". My family all watches it at their perspective houses, then we sit around and talk about it later.

Yep...one fell in and it was on heck of a chore to get it out of there. Had to bring in a crane to pull it up. I'll see if I can find any pics of it and post them if I do.

Haven't watched this all the way through, but according to my search info, it was episode 6 when the one went thru the ice.
