They are illegal to shoot off in our town in KY, BUT you can buy them at Walmart. Go figure. My neighbors make a big event out of it and shoot them off until past midnight. My lawn and house and HHR last year were covered with residue (the HHR had a car cover on it). I called the police, but they said there were so many of them that they couldn't do anything about it. DUH ! Start with one and then move on to another one. I get really PO'd at people who have no respect for other people or their property. Then again...........I hate holidays.

It is illegal in Illinois and I agree it is odd that there can be advertizing for an illegal product...I am spoiled Peoria has announced a show over 20 minutes in duration with over 5000 shells for teh fouth and the Peoria park district kicks things off with a nice show on the third...hopefully I will be able to leave the basement repair long enough to enjoy the shows...I am guessing that more than one animal is applauding that new law !!! Can animals applaud???

Fireworks to me are like cell phones. Sometimes the legislators have to act on things because people can be soooo stupid. I've seen too many fingers missing over the years. Have also had a few deaths in the area too. I know that the injury rate in Massachusetts was high years ago, but I wonder how the rates are where anyone can buy them and fire them off?

bout 20 min from my house there is 10-15 fire work shops. I buy em every july 4 & new years. I spend bout 300-500 everytime and put on a little show for my family/friends. I love doing them. Some people shouldnt be aloud to have them lol but i think if your smart about what your doing, there is no harm in them.
