This is off subject, I just got an e-mail from a guy inIran I made a coment about the Us giving I thought they were F-15 maybe someone can correct me maybe F-14? can anyone remeber this was when the Shaw was still there?

Answer (80 F-14A Tomcats were delivered to the Imperial Iranian Air Force starting in January of 1976.(During the Shah's reign) These aircraft were standard F-14A variants with the lack of certain classified avionics hardware and slightly de-rated TF-30-414 engines, approximately 20 are still operational as the rest have been cannibalized for parts or lost in combat missions.)
