I have the same speakers. Looks like you need to clean under that desk.

Here is a partial list of components for my next build. (not sure if it will happen)

I DID clean under the desk!! We have 5 cats and 2 dogs, so it just blows in again. But thanks for looking anyway. Hubby says your spec list has some items in common for what he would be buying if he was buying today. But I know him - he's holding out for next gen this and next gen that... It's always something!

My old beater needed an upgrade too, but I bought a new car and couldn't afford it. Luckily my son gave up his PC for a MAC (photo student, part of the course). So between his cpu and case, a new mother board (has anyone tried to find a socket 462 (A) board lately, that's a challenge) and RAM (his was wrong for the cpu). and all the workings from my computer, I have doubled the power and am good for a bit now. I really lucke dout on the case...an Antec..and while it was apart I threw some paint on it. Turned out pretty OK.

The white lines round the edges of the side panel disappeared after the second coat.

I need to do something with mine....it's been having issues recently where it will not always boot. Going to take it apart this weekend and clean it and make sure all the connections are tight. It's an Asus board, but has been very problematic.

I have the same issue as Jim...Socket 462/Socket A - limited possibilities these days.
