I am originally from NY and was only out here in CA about two years at the time. Most of my family still lives in NY. My brother had a client in the Twin Towers. It took me hours to find out that he was not there that day. My office closed early but I didn't want to leave because I left my work number on several answering machines and did not want to leave. Several co-workers stayed to make sure I was okay. It was agonizing until I got word he was okay. My nephew's dorm room window had a view of what transpired and I completely forgot he was staying there ( I was glad I did, it was one less thing to worry about). I worked for a company in the health care industry back then. A couple of days later they brought in a counselor to talk about what happened and it was a big help. I thought that was pretty cool of the company to think of doing that

My future wife's Express Bus broke down that morning, she was an hour late to her job in the South Tower, sometimes an inconvenience is the hand of fate stepping in.
