Might Have Saved a Life
Or at the least a close call. Four lanes and a crosswalk. I was the second car in the left lane, kid was crossing (running) and I saw a car coming up very fast in the right lane, hit the gas and stuck my nose out in the right lane causing the car to come to a rapid stop (and cellphone talking person honked at me and then covered her face in obvious horror). The kid was actually smart enough to stop at the corner of the car in front of me so that's why I say "might". Tell your kids about that!

Well at the least you brought enough attention to cause the driver to stop and possibly a "learnt lesson" without damage to your ride (although that was the least of your concerns - at the moment)

How ironic, that I come here to read a post on this. I have to give a persuasive speech in college Wed. and I'm doing it on accidents and cell phone usage.
One time me and the wife were coming home from a trip down a busy back 2 lane 45 mph rode, we came over the top of the hill and saw this little kid (3-5 years old) riding his tricycle on the side of the highway going the same way as us on the road. What amazed me is NONE of the cars coming or going either way in front of us stopped to get the little kid of the road. So me and the wife stopped got the little boy off the road and took him up the road a little ways to a mechanic garage to see if he knew the boy, which he did. So we got the info from the guy at the garage and drove the boy to his house, which was about 1/8 of a mile away. His grand father answered the door, didn't even know the boy was missing because he fell asleep on the couch and forgot to latch the door.
