It's been kind of over the top. My daughter found out late last week she was accepted to the honor college at ETSU (East Tennessee State University), which brings with it a full ride scholarship. SInce she had done so well, we traded her Monte Carlo this weekend . Unfortunately, she didn't want an HHR, so we got her a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. Since we're not paying for college, we thought we would surprise her with this.

 

That's a well earned gift!! (whatever vehicle)

 

Mixed is right, but the best of all is how proud you must be of her and her achievements.
Not an HHR well it could have been a Vette.

I do have a lot to be proud of, and both my kids are great kids (as great as teenagers can be ). My son was a little perturbed since his 16th is in October. We told him he'll get the same kind of fisrt car she got, and if he gets a free ride, he'll get a new ride also. The other good news she gave us is that she's not going to major in elementary education, but in business. She's called to work with children, but she can do that at church or as a volunteer with another program. At least with a major in business, she'll make a little money in the future.
