I've had quite a few of the 48-54 Chevy trucks. The 216 was a good motor but if I remember correctly the bearings were Babbitt, poured, bearings.....I think. Hard to rebuild. (drinking margaritas at the moment )

Very true & the 216" rod caps had dippers on them for 'splash lube'..

The 235" had oil pumped thru rods & mains.
