My newest Christmas Pic

I came VERY close to getting one from a shelter shortly after I moved to TX. There was a gorgeous male that A.C. had just picked up, and was being held for the 72 hour period for the owner to claim it. He was so calm, loving, gentle, and sweet that I fell in love instantly. I visited every day, only to find that the owner did claim him literally at the last possible moment before he was to be released for adoption.
I would still consider getting one once my current "pack" has passed on, but am currently very concerned about the fairly recent and drastic rise in cancer rates amongst the breed.
I know the feeling on the misidentifying a breed. So many people want to call my two Great Pyrenees white St. Bernards.
