I am kinda glad Tony didnt make it . H has reverted back to being jerk this year. Dont get me wrong I do like him as a driver most of the time but his attitude is bad sometimes. maybe missing the chase will straighten him up a little . I really hope Martin can finally win a championship . he deserves it more than anyone . I believe aI heard he has finished in the top 6 , fifteen times . finishing second , four times . he is a really good driver . I hope he can win it !

Mark Martin is definitely the sentimental favorite for winning the championship. I did some research and he has finished 2nd in points 4 times in his career (1990, 1994, 1998 & 2002).

Let's have some fun and make our predictions for what driver we think will win to 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship.

Sentimental Pick - Mark Martin
2006 Cup Champion - Kevin Harvick (wins it for "The Intimidator")

My sentimental favorites are Mark Martin, Jeff Burton and Jr but I think it's going to be Harvick. I wouldn't count Denny Hamlin out of it either, that kid is awesome. Harvick is just so so good this year and I'm really happy for him.
