Need a car. California - New York

Hi all.
I plan to run (cruis) California - New York. In November of 2011.
Need a car.
I tried to rent a car - A very expensive.
If in the forum are representatives of car rental companies - your advice or assistance. I am willing to pay for rent HHR, or any other car 500 - $ 600.
If someone is needed to deliver the car from California to New York - I'll do it for free. You only pay for insurance.
Ask your friends. Ask your neighbors.
I know that the U.S. military often funneling their cars from the west coast to the east. Many large companies are doing the same.
It is difficult to conclude a deal while im in Russia. Guys, I can not do without your help or advice.
For real help - a bottle of vodka + my many thanks.

geg, I checked on the rates for a rental car picked up in California and returned in New York City, the best I could come up with is $1,223 US. I have some friends and business associates in California and I have sent them e-mails in an attempt to find you a vehicle for your trip. While I can't promise you anything, I will do my best for you. Hopefully I will have an answer for you before the end of this week.

We have discovered that renting a vehicle in Russia is also very expensive and complicated, so despite the distance between our two countries, things are very much the same.

Yes friend.
Rent a car in Russia - a complex and expensive procedure. I must say, another 10 - 12 years ago, the possibility of renting a car was not at all. This service is not available in Soviet Russia.
So this market is very young. No culture of the Rent. Add to this high level of fraud. Russian crooks know perfectly well how to rent a car and no return it. That's why rent a car in Russia is difficult and expensive than in the U.S..

Thanks for your help. I hope for you.

PS Very correct saying.

Geg, friend, check out www.u-ship.com

Post your offer of driving a car from New York to California. Perhaps, in time, you will be successful.

Just a suggestion. удача!

You offer to drive car from NY to California. Other user hires you as driver.

I have never used it in this form, but know a few people that have used it to have their stuff shipped.

Site I like
I think I can find a suitable car. I wrote a few suggestions to users, I'm waiting for an answer.
Thanks again.

PS I plan to follow from California to New York. Although ... By and large it is possible and in the other direction.

I believe you have to have an international drivers license, and permit for driving in the US..
