It seems as though the design possibilities for vehicles are approaching practical limits. The long established notion that most cars look the same from a distance has to do with a combination of physics and economics. In order to achieve mandatory CAFE requirements, vehicles must have a suitable drag coefficient. This governs the overall shape possibilities.
Then, in order to distinguish a vehicle brand from all others, unique, subtle contours are introduced. These are pretty much used up. Now designers are left with the formidable task of emphasizing distinctions with risky grille and glass shapes.
The Spin sort of fails in that respect. It looks like at least a dozen other vehicles with Oriental pedigrees.
