New Movie filmed in Arizona
Jamie Foxx is filming a new movie "The Kingdom" right here in my backyard. OK down the road a couple of miles. I took a trip down to see if I could watch any of it. Well they were filming a car crash on the freeway. I snaped a few photos. I may go back a little later today and see if anything new is going on. For those who have always wanted to see know what it would be like on a set, I can tell you alot of hurry up and wait for a few seconds of filming.
Well here are some of the photos.....
Some of the "middle eastern cars"
Road sign
"Good Guy" trucks
Truck to go Kaboom
The crash and Kobbom
Aftermath

Hey, is that Boeing in Mesa in the background? I work right there at the sand and gravel plant in pic #2. That looks like the Higley road exit off the 202. Is that right? It looks likr they changed the exit sign to Arabic or something.

I tried to reduce them and may have got them too small

Well I went back to the movie set or should I say shut down freeway today and got some more photos. They were filming some more crash scenes.
It is crazy watching how they do this stuff. I also got the got some tape of the action so I can watch it once the movie comes out. Hope you enjoy.
Getting set up for the action
Trucks rushing by the burned out truck from yesterdays, crane drop in the corner is a truck about to be flipped over
Later in the day, the burning truck in the background, under the crane is the truck the fliped over
Ever wonder how they make a car, slide on its roof? They have a crane on mounted to it push the car, it also rotates the car if they want it to spin dwn the road
Hollywood Magic.. I will be checking over the next 2 weekends as the do more filming.

It was cool to sit there (if you can stay cool in the Az heat) and watch all the setting things up. They spend so much time seeting up and between shots for only a couple of seconds of film. Over the 2 days I watched They may have got 1 minute worth of film and only use about 40 seconds of that.
Ahd to cry when I seen all the brand new trucks being burned and crashed like that. From what I heard those were all brand new unharmed trucks Friday morning, by Sunday afternoon three were wasted.
