Nope - it's built in the U.S.

It's built in Canton, Mississippi (the same factory that builds the Titan). It's intended as a commercial fleet vehicle. I'm not sure if it's even available to normal consumers (not that I know anyone who would want one)!

Looks like Nissan stole from Dodge for the high roof. It certainly isn't a heritage high roof edition.

The Van GM needs to attack for work vehicles are the Ford Connec.

They are not a graceful looking vehicle but they are cheap to buy and cheap to run with a very work friendly interior.

I find it crazy how they are imported from South America with a rear seat and window only to have them removed here and recycled. I guess this is done to prevent them from getting hit with a truck tariff. The seat and glass class it as a passenger car and the convertion is cheaper than the tax.

With the price of gas and the economy companies are looking for ways to cut cost and Ford has the appeal to save them money.

The Nissan will tank like their large trucks.

While I find it interesting that Nissan is doing this....I was wondering why this is posted in the "General HHR" section. I see nothing that links the info with an HHR. Shouldn't it be in the "Lounge" section?

I would think if Brad was still here, this would have been taken care of (kind of "jabbing" you a little, Sindy) all done in fun

I agree, if I could get one here, it would be my next vehicle.

There is still a remote [note remote chance the Ute could still come here. It is still in production and it is engineered for the USA and RHD. Note since the new mid size Chevy truck has been approved it may not make it now. GM has been back and forth on this truck and it now has a green light so it may hurt the Utes chances not. It all comes down to numbers. GM will sell the truck 50 to 1 of the Utes and the exchange rates can also mess with it too.

I had planned on buying a Pontiac Ute but it never made it. MArk Reuss is the head of GM NA now and was the guy behind the Ute. If he can make a good case to get it approved he will.

The first car you will see is the Chevy Caprice for the Police units starting right about now. The shorter wheel base sedan will be here a little later if plans remain in place as they are. Think of it as a Chevy G8 as it will be just the updated Zeta like the G8 was on.
