Ah....Socialism vs. Capitalism. Surprisingly some branches of Socialism support Capitalism. My particular beliefs in the Democratic Socialist system does not call for and end to Capitalism but believes in reforming Capitalism from within.

Being in Florida, I am opposed to this. Forget the rich and poor argument. This proposal favors property owners and those with the means to save. While this would include the rich, it also includes much of the middle class. Essentially, the tax burden would be pushed from those with the means to pay to those that are living paycheck to paycheck with no assets or savings.

I am doing okay - my wife and I are both professionals with MBA's. I don't understand why those who are fortunate enough to make large incomes are so opposed to paying taxes. I consider myself lucky to have what I've earned and I do not mind paying taxes. Why be greedy when I have more than enough?
