No HHR for a while :(

Well, I'm officially stuck in the Lumina for a while...busted ankle while playing beer league softball. Got caught in a pickle b/w 3rd and home. Made it back to 3rd (safe!), but tore up my hoof in the process. Can't very well drive a 5spd with one leg...doh! Fortunately it's not broken, but I'll be hobblin for a while.

That's pretty much what the Doc said...I'm fortunate that it wasn't worse. Thanks for the thoughts and wishes.

Back in '87 I tried to turn a double into triple, hit second base with my left foot and the next thing I knew, I was on the ground with excruciating pain coming from my left ankle. Ambulance ride to the ER later, I find out my Achilles tendon had blown out in two places. Smooth, my foot, ankle and lower leg looked just like yours except mine turned a wide variety of colors over the following days. They wanted to operate but couldn't guarentee it would be any better than it would be without surgery.

Best advice I can give having BTDT, DO NOT PUSH IT. Give it whatever time it takes to heal. Like someone said this is worse than a break, BTDT too.

It might've been different if we weren't getting killed (ended up losing 13-1 but went 7 innings!). I was trying to play hero and not get another out. Apparently, according to the runner on 2nd and 3rd base coach, I shoulda just ran it in as they bobbled the ball at home. When I hesitated to go back, he got a handle of it and got me in the pickle.
