Not how I wanted to start my week.

As most of you guys know I bought a brand new Mazda3 last year. Well I haven't even had the car a year yet and this is what I came out to last Monday morning. Needless to say I was pretty pissed off when I saw this. Mainly because the car is still in new condition and because I haven't even had it a year yet. Also because it happened on post which means it was most likely another soldier who did this. The worst part of all is I will probably never know what really happened because the lot the car was parked in wasn't well lit and there are no cameras.

I guess that's what I get for being lazy and trying to park closer so I didn't have to walk as far. That being said it still really sucks that it happened and even more so that it happened on post. Since this happened though I have started parking elsewhere in a lot that is well lit and I'm hoping that maybe that will deter any further incidents.

The good news is I put in a claim with my insurance and they agreed to pay for it to be fixed and all I have to pay is my deductible. So now I'm just waiting for the check to arrive so I can take it to the shop to get it fixed. I just still can't believe it happened and that people are so disrespectful of other people's stuff. Just thought I would share this with you guys.

Very much so Oldblue but at least it's getting fixed. I can't stand looking at my car in that state.

Really sorry to hear that you were singled out by a jealous, small minded, useless knuckle dragger. But it's a sad commentary on the state of affiars in today's world, but I'm glad to hear it'll be repaired soon.

Thanks Mike and me too. I can't wait until it's fixed. I just still can't believe someone did it, but like you and Oldblue said it's the sad state of affairs in today's world unfortunately.

Post up some pics when you get it back, and sorry again that a micro-cephallic moron buggered up your week.

Thanks again Mike and will do. I called the body shop today now that I have the check from my insurance and they said they would call me tomorrow to set up an appointment. So hopefully it will be fixed here in the next week or two.

Just a little bit of an update. I talked to the body shop and have an appointment set for June 30th to have my car fixed. Man I can't wait for it to get fixed.

Ugh! Nothing worse than waiting for a body shop to get caught up so they can fix your ride, except for having to drive around in your vandalized car.

Sorry to hear that you're cooling your heels, but if they do good work, the wait will be worth it.

Thanks again Mike and they did seem pretty busy when I went up there to get an estimate. Not to mention with it being summer everyone is trying to take vacation time with their families so I can understand having to wait a little longer than usual to have it fixed. I also completely agree if they do good work I would rather wait than have someone do it quickly and have them mess it up and then have to keep bringing it back.

From everything I've seen so far though them seem like a pretty good shop to work with. The owner is the one who did my estimate for me and all of their staff seem really nice and willing to help. Also when I went up there to get my estimate done I saw that they were working on one of the patrol cars for the Montgomery County Sherriff's Dept. which leads me to believe they must do good work cause I don't think the Sherriff's Dept. would trust just anyone to work on their patrol cars lol. Plus my insurance said this is a On Your Side body shop which means any work they do is covered under a lifetime warranty through my insurance. So if I do have any issues later on down the line I bring the car back and they fix it for free which is always a nice thing to have. So yeah it does suck having to drive around in my vandalized car for the time being, but I definitely think it will be worth the wait.
