Anyone have a portable satellite radio? I purchased the Pioneer INNO, so I could listen to my XM during work, now, i work outside, 90% of the time, and reception SUCKs. And dont get me started on the reception in my apartment with the external antenna! yesterday I was working on the top of a water tank, located on a hill in a residential neighborhood, my reception still SUCKED, even my body was blocking reception!!! ok, rant over.

 

Re: Reception in your apartment; I don't have an Inno, but the same principal applies to the Inno as it does with regular XM radios in a home dock...the antenna needs to face south or towards a terrestrial repeater.

I'm pretty sure that San Diego has terrestrial repeaters, just depends where they are and where you are.

As for the outdoor reception...no idea.

 

I have the same unit and the recp. sucks.There is a headset with antenna in them. They are kind of big. Best buy seels them.

 

I'd like to purchase a portable XM radio but I feared reception problems. Do you use it in your car? How's your reception there? Thanks for the info.

 

the other problem with portable xm radio, you couldnt use in your local gym, cuz of the reception...
