Postal rates going up
Just a reminder for all..........
Stock up on the "Forever" stamps you can buy them at the current rate and continue to use them without extra postage after the rates go up again, and again, and again.................
New Prices Coming May 12, 2008 On May 12 the Postal Service will adjust prices for its services. While the most visible change is the 1-cent increase for First-Class Mail letters, the changes are broader and include prices that could save you real dollars when shipping packages:
Reduced Express Mail prices for items shipped to addresses closer to home.Lower online postage prices for Express Mail and Priority Mail (domestic and international).Volume Express Mail price rebates for frequent shippers.Additional flat-rate box prices for Priority Mail.
The information below will help you determine just how much you can save.

I'm not saying that it is the postal service's fault but they are going to keep on raising the prices until they are no longer used. The only thing that i get in the mail is my bills and junk. The only reason i get my bills in the mail is so that it doesn't get lost in my email. I really couldn't tell you the last time i sent out a letter other than my wedding invites, and those are going out tomorrow.

I used to work in the "direct mail" (read: junk mail) buisness. While we all hate it, if not for the large amount of bulk mail, we'd be paying about a dollar to mail a letter. So all that junk offsets a lot of cost. Still, I've been getting a lot less of it in the past couple of years. Not to mention on-line bill paying has gotten quite popular. I'm not suprised that we've seen more increases in costs. Less letters are being sent these days.

Same here, until now, and only with this stamp. The price of the Forever stamps will change, but once you have them, you don't have to add additional postage when the rates go up again.
