No they have not said that yet. Yet he was found in bed with pills everywhere. Accidential Overdose.... What does that mean? Directions, take one pill, well if I take 10, that will make me feel better faster? After hearing his statement after his child was born, sounds like he was preparing for it.
But you are right, gotta wait for the autopsy....

Apparently, he had a meltdown after he finished shooting "Brokeback Mountain" and started hitting the sauce back then. I can see after portraying such a dark character in "The Dark Knight" how that could make someone with depression and substance abuse issues go over the edge.
Too bad. They need to redo that PSA showing the pictures of all the famous people who OD'd. I remember the one with River Phoenix and Kurt Cobain having a profound effect on most of the people I knew growing up.

I agree with you there. To prepare for the Joker he locked himself alone in a hotel room for a month to develop the character and get into his role. He even kept a Joker journal to refer back to. Method actors sometimes have a hard time leaving roles behind and occasionally characters mannerism find their way into the person’s normal behavior. Obviously he was in deep with The Joker.
