Question Recommend me a good digital camera for under $200

Broke my old Canon A60 on way home from vacation. What's a good upgrade replacement (more megapixels) for under $200?

LR the camera possibilites are vast even at under $200. Really depends on what you do with it and how many bells/whistles on it. I have a Kodak CX7530 at 5 megapixels and it suits my needs well. Takes really good pics but would not recommend it for fast moving objects. You can manually control the settings but I always use it in automatic. There are others out there too in the same price range that offer a few different things. Do some shopping on the internet and you will find probably more than you want to look at. WalMart has a decent selection, at least they did when I got mine..

Hope this helps a little..

I just picked up A630 8.0MP for $279 its a bit bulky but the highest MP they had (Target). i think that included buying a 1GB card.

i think i recall seeing a few 7.0MP tiny lil cameras(canons) ~$179?

The pics I took of the B2 were taken with a 3.2 mp Canon A510 camera. That thing takes amazing shots. I remember a pro photographer telling me that if I don't ever plan on printing anything larger than 5x7 that even 3.2 is overkill.

More MP does not always = better pics

I've got a Samsung S500 point and shoot. It's a 5.1 megapixel camera that has a ton of features. Paid $149 for it at Walmart. Here's a page from the Samsung site that explains all the features. This is the camera I took to Kansas Speedway and used it for both pics and videos. Only extra things I have bought for it was a 256mb memory card and some rechargeable batteries.

How about $199.99!!! I got a Sony Cybershot just recently from Wally World and it's a great camera. Lots of features and a large view screen for it's tiny size It has 7.2 megapixels with a Carl Zeiss® 3X Optical Zoom Lens Design and does video among alot of other things.

See here for details:http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665079070

After looking at some reviews, I'm leaning toward the Canon Powershot A630. It comes in under $200 when ordered online.

Nice choice...as much as I love my Canon the next digi I get will have a bigger LCD in the back...at least 2.5"

If that is not important to you, you have made a great choice with the A630
