I have loved this show since I accidentally discovered it in 1997. Have all the episodes, could quote each one.

Moved these into their own thread here in the lounge, Red Dwarf doesn't exactly have a huge following here.
To answer your question, I met them both in NYC back in 2000, the Talkie Toaster prop I won back in '98 at a charity auction.
I've been watching RD since 1989.

Yup, the U.S. pilot was horrible, glad we didn't have to deal with an Americanized RD.
My wife didn't believe me when I told her how bad Craig Ferguson looked at the height of his drinking problem until I showed her "Confidence & Paranoia" from Series 1.
We both huge fans of Craig and had the pleasure of dining with him in Charlotte back in April of 2011.

I've seen a bit of Mr. Confidence in Geoff Peterson, when the Robot Skeleton Army deal started I wondered how far CBS would let Craig and his sister Lynn run with the idea.
Now I couldn't imagine the Late Late Show minus the robot, or Secretariat.
If you haven't read Craig's books "American on Purpose" and "Between The Bridge & The River", you've missed some really good stuff.
Beneath the whole "Cheeky Monkies" persona, there's one deep thinker.
