Thanks CH and deb, that wasn't meant to be a soap box speach. But I've learned a long time ago that offending and being offended are choices we make. No one can offend you (although they may be offensive), you can make the choice to be offended or not.

You know Guys/Gals, there`s a real fine line between like and hate. There are so many different opinions on a subject like this, that the only safe zone is not to use any of these types of terms. There are many, many, African-Americans, who use the "N", word on a daily bases. BUT, if you say it to the wrong person, even one who uses it, look out.
It`s just too touching a subject to be so nonchalant.

I would love a world in which no negative words were used for any gender, race, religion etc. but life dictates otherwise. As far as my opinion if you use the word then find offense when someone else uses the word you are BS'ng the pope. If a black person uses the N word and then claims they are offended by it they are IMHO using the circumstances to promote their own self awareness. If you dont like being called the N word then it doesn't matter who is using the word, you dont like it! Otherwise you need to do some real soul searching as you are sending two different messages to everyone. I for one, dont give a darn who calls me what, you see I know the truth, they are just summarizing their experience or lack there of. Either way I know who I am.
