Saudi Arabia Trip Slide show

The military who return from the desert tell me the hardest thing to adapt to again is the amount of color we have in our lives and the lack of it over there. I now understand what they mean.
Great pictures!

That brings back alot of memories
1985 - 1995 I was a Tech instructer for a Biomedical company. part of my international schedule was a once a year tour between JEDDA, Riyadh with the final leg in Dubai.
Back then it was really tough in Saudi (unless you had a contact that could get you the local moonshine which would be delivered in 2 Litre Evian botltles), thats why my reward was a trip to Dubai (party town). Jeez how Dubai has grown.
Nice prawn and BBQ you had there!!

We were privileged to get invited to the BBQ and more privileged to be invited into our host's home. Photos in Saudi were taken with out host only with his permission. and none of him in his home, but he was ok with taking them in his great room. We met his kids but not the wife.
The haze in the area prevents photos from further away. I was 125' up in one of our units where I got the photos, even when flying from Dammam to Dubai you could not get any good photos or see much.
It is a different culture there. Colors there only in concrete building and auto or trucks.
I get to go visit again in Feb or March next year.
