When I eat fish, I eat haddock or cod, both fished locally. When down south, red snapper is the fish for me. Farm raised tilapia is okay, but it really has no taste to it by itself, but readily absorbs the flavor of what you cook it in.

As for eating anything out of the Salton Sea......I saw a special on TV last year (National Geographic I think). Um, no thanks. I don't think that water will ever be safe again.

Also good points Grump.

Think about it this way. What would you rather eat? A fish that ate some poo or algae, both natural things. Or a fish that ate some chemical that you can`t pronounce? If you go the vegi route just remember that that carrot,if fertilized organically, was fed........POO!

Yeah, I think I'm ok now that I no longer eat anything from the Salton Sea. I still worry about about long term effects ...like ever since I have had this burning sensation in my third eye

I'm on it! Just relax dude, trying to help promote the aquarium fish hobby, maybe someone actually cares what they are and will want to do a search and find some more info.
