in the central Mass area, I'm still paying $2.89 for regular at a Getty mart in Westboro center for the last two fills (10 days apart)...seems to have leveled off I'd guess...no now

Last night, I checked the prices at our local Scheetz station and high test was $3.159 per gallon. This morning, I stopped at the same station and filled up with high test at $2.999 per gallon. Luckily I waited, as it took 17 gallons, saving me $2.72 for the fillup. (This was with my FX45, which surprisingly gets around 18 mpg with a big V8 engine). I am currently getting 25.3 mpg with my HHR (same driving - country and some around town). My previous PT Cruiser Turbo got only 20 mpg consistently with same type of driving. Now that fuel prices are so high, most of my driving is in the HHR.

Last time I paid under $3 per gallon was when I went home to GA a few months ago. Even the cheapest stuff around here hasn't been under $3.09 in months... And this makes absolutely no sense to me since I have to be careful around here not to bump into oil wells and refineries! I guess the excuse that transportation adds to the cost is just an excuse. I don't even look at the price anymore. I know I'm going to buy it anyway so why should I stress over it.

The price of Crude Oil isn`t what determines pump price... It`s taxes. In Chicago, you can go from one corner to the next, and price could vary 5-10 cents. WE`RE BEING GOUGED !!!!!! Nation wide.
