Time flies. It's already spring break. Although i am nearing the end of my first year of college I remind myself I have 6 years left including law school.

 

Yep! My spring break officially began a few minutes ago!

My Spring break at work (Univ of CA) is the week before my Spring Break from school (CA State U)...so I have class during one break and work during the other. grrr...

Still, I get to go to DC for work/mini-vacation during the work break.
Not that you really get breaks in a doctoral program

afs9, writing a dissertation must really suck. What field of study are you in?

 

mine officially starts at noon tomorrow. some people go to warm places on spring break. im going up north to go skiing.

It's occasionally overwhelming (been talked off the ledge more then a few times), but doable. I have my qualifying exam on 9.2.09, then I can advance to candidacy and start writing.

Doc is in Education and I'll be using my site/students as a qualitative case study. Only people who will care about this will be my committee and myself.

The challenge is I work full time so any free time is spent researching and writing.
I have no life.

I second that, Enjoy it cause it will be gone before you know it. Know all you get is Vaction time. Unless your unemployed. I'll have a nice long "Spring Break" in about 4 weeks

 

Seriously, be glad you are in school right now. I feel for my Senior's who are thinking of staying a 5th year, or are actively looking for work/internship opportunities before applying to graduate school.

 

I am going for a bachelor's in econ and legal studies but law school is the goal.
