Timeline for Presidential Race

Do you think it's right for candidates to start campaigning a full year before any of the primaries? That's 22 months before the election! How can anyone currently holding a political office perform their duties while on the fund raising trail?

Our local government has a law that you must resign your current elected post when you register to run for another. Adopting that rule would surely change future presidential races!

Well the good thing is, Bush can't run again. It goes against the Constitution (two term limit) so finally we'll have a different president. These last 6 years were rough, this year will be rough, next year will suck.

Yup, that is one of the BIG problems with our system. Office holders spend a lot of time and OUR money trying to get reelected.

No real cure other than perhaps longer terms, so we get a bit more time out of them before they begin getting totally distracted on their reelection circus, oh, I mean circuit!

Not him, but how 'bout two six year terms for Prez. It could make the office more efficient.
But if ya git one in there who , shall we say SUX, then the idea is less appealing!

A 4 year term is long enough to screw up the country let alone 6.

Ok I was gonna avoid making my comment to prevent offending anyone, but it seems we've crossed that line already! Nice work Hillsdale!

Still don't want to say it.
