Of course Bullit started it all with actual high speed chases. They did leave out or forgot one Movie. The 7Ups.

I just watched the chase scene in 'Diamonds Are Forever.'

That is one of my favorites. The fact that that was shot in Las Vegas with real crowds on the sidewalks watching and the stunt drivers doing their moves within inches of pedestrians who were not hired movie extras made it that much more exciting.
