Well, I just got back from viewing what could be described as, by some, as the World's most expensive General Motors commercial. My best friend, Daniel and I, caught the opening-day midnight matinee of Transformers. It really was, And I quote; More than meets the eye. Compared to some movies, the language in the film was clean. Sure, they dropped "****" here and there,(okay-7 times) but it really was clean. The movie had it's comedy in it (boy did it...), But it also had it's touching moments. Some were actually hard to watch. Me being a Camaro fan, It was hard to watch a couple scenes. But it never let up. Transformers is a rip-roarin' organic-robotic-bashfest. I almost jumped out of my seat a few times.
I highly recommend this movie for fans of the original Transformers toys AND the cartoons. But this is also a movie that I'd take a girl to for a date, ONLY for the fact that it does have a quite romantic touch to it. But if your girl isn't even the least bit interested in machines, FORGET IT. The human heroine in the film was only lucky on the base that his female counterpart had a vast knowledge of engines & other automotive geekery.
I also recommend this movie for kids age 13 and up, Which I hate to do, Considering that the whole franchise was founded on a series of toys aimed at 7-to-10-year-olds. But it does involve some slight innuendo.
The whole movie runs 2 hours and 20 minutes, So if you are the sleepy type, Grab a can of Mountain Dew, And chug that sucker. Because, I don't care how action packed the movie is, if you're tired enough, you will fall asleep. Just ask my sister. My sis fell asleep during "The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring".
Transformers gets a 4-out of-5 rating from me. But only because it's a Big, Expensive GM commercial, in essence, that it is not a full 5. Had it been indifferent to the automotive brands, It would have been a full 5. For example, originally, Optimus Prime was a mid-70's Freightliner Cab-Over-Engine tractor. In the movie however, Mr. Prime is an Early 90's Kenworth conventional sleepercab tractor. Freightliner is now a Daimler-Chrysler Product. Kenworth is owned by PACCAR, Which is in-turn partly owned by GM, If I'm not mistaken. Bumblebee was originally a early-70's Volkswagen Beetle, Not a 1970-something-then-2008 Chevy Camaro.
And on that note, I end this review, Almost fully satisfied. Transformers could possibly be one of the summer's best films, if not the best.

THE MOVIE WAS AWESOME!!! I just got back in from watching it and I must agree with Nate "Transformers is a rip-roarin' organic-robotic-bashfest. I almost jumped out of my seat a few times" to cheer and yell like a 10 year old. if I had not caught the last showing of the night I would be back in watching it right now. If you like cars, robots, action, comedy, romance, military tactics, or Chevy GO SEE THIS MOVIE! My wife loved it also but was upset that the gm site teased her with the HHR transformer, and then they was none. But it did kind of leave an opening for a part 2??????? maybe we'll get lucky in that one.

i disagree on how "awesome" the movie was...
yes the effects and colors and action was great but the story? BLAH to me was lame as hell...didnt really stick to the comics, tv series, etc...
the killing of megatron? pshhhhh....lets see starscream escapes? part 2?
i just thought it sucked..i give it 2.5 of 5
