I am trying to find running boards for my DSM 07 HHR.. The dealer said he looked at 60 different places for my color and found nothing just primer and it would cost me 300 to have them painted and another 200 installed im looking at 1000.00 for running boards, so I desided to look for myself online. I found several different places that said they had them I odered them and then got email or calls saying "sorry those have been discon." many shops online say they have them but then oops sorry they don't. I was wondering if anyone might know who realy does have them?

That might be the problem DSM that color has been discontinued.

Are you putting them on as a result of your rear fenders getting pitted? My dealer installed them for free and purchased them for me at dealer cost after getting an earful of my thoughts. This is a known issue and they should at least inform the consumer about the problem during purchase instead of waiting for them to come back later. If this specific dealer doesn't see it this way try another or even GM customer service. It's always worth a try.

 

No I read on here all the paint problems so I told my dealer about the tsb and like others he sugested I get mud flaps... He said if a paint problem comes up they will touch up only once unless I want to pay for more, and none of the cars on the dealers lot here have running boards, and gm told me when I called they are starting to not sell the painted ones cause of chipping in the shipping process, along with my color being discon. its going to be a pain to try and find some I won't have to have painted...

 

I had only a 1,000 miles on mine when they were installed. If you feel your fenders is there any roughness at all yet? If so complain. State that the mud flaps are not going to provide enough protection and that the running boards are needed. Thats what I did and got results. Like I said, if that dealership doesn't see it that way try another or voice your concern to GM Customer Service. If they want your return business they will do what is needed to keep you happy. Also, ask them why they don't have running boards on their cars on the lot or at least inform their consumers of the problem. Had you been informed you would have probably demanded the running boards from the start and should not get punished by having to pay for install etc. for not being informed on a known issue.

yes discontinued but lots of stock in canada pdc warehouses out of gm
with you in virginia i say conact a canadian dealer if you have to to order them i sell them for $544.00 canadian plus tax
retail price is $640.00 cdn plus tax no painting required

This going to sound very strange,,,,I just got off the phone with 2 companys that sell GM parts. They are telling me that GM has dicontinued all running bds?
I will make further calls to find out more.

 

Crap!!! I paid $640 for mine at Myers. Grrr.
