I've been away for a while as well. Still have the SS, but have been giving more attention to the good 'ol 87 Silverado 4x4. She sat in my barn a little too long, so needed some light engine work (vacuum, gaskets, etc) as well as a paint clean-up. Still original paint; just needed elbow grease. She'll be 25 years old in April. Been on the 73-87 Chevy Truck site for some info. Honestly, they're not as accommodating as the folks here on this site.
I removed the cap since this pic and installed a soft tonneau.

Didn't find it in NY. My dad bought it brand new at Hesser Chevrolet in PA in April of 1987. My memories of it go back to the proud day he brought it home. It's been garaged throughout its entire existence. He sold it to me back in 2002 since I practically forbade him to sell it to a stranger. Before he passed on, I promised I'd keep it in the family. My 18 year old daughter now has her sights on it. She's impressed by the sound of that throaty V8 as well as the metal lower dash and vent windows. It will undoubtedly be hers someday. My 21 year old son wants the HHR SS (and he'll get it as well).
