Veterans Day

To my fellow Vets and also to our Canadian friends who have set this day aside as Remembrance Day, A salute to all.

Hey, thanks for reminding me that it's my brother's birthday. Guess I should get his card in the mail on Tuesday.

Thank you for all you have done so that we may have our priviledges we take for granted daily.

Thank you to the spouses, who have given up many anniversaries, birthdays and other special moments in life while their loved one served our country.

Thank you for being brave in the face of death, and thank God for bringing you home safely. May we remember and honor those who never made it home.

Always remember to thank a Vet. It's the least one can do to let them know we care.

Respectfully,
Lorraine F. Pruim

As former vet of war and current national guard soldier, I think that the family of veterans have it worse. Always worrying, thinking, and missing the family member. Here is pic I took crossing the tigris in Iraq while I was in the back of HMMV with 50 cal machine gun. One of my best pics I think.

Since I began this Thread, I will now make a last post on this Thread. I thank you that took the time to make a quick post here and I want to thank all that stand behind our vets and recognize what they and their families have and will go through to preserve the FREEDOMS we American have. Even though we may have wars that we don't all believe in, our Vets and those still serving in the military have and are doing what we expect and more. Thank You.
As for the member who only used this Thread as a reminder that it was his brothers birthday, and he had better get a card in the mail, well, I hope next year at this time he takes a moment and thinks more as to why this day was set aside. Our Soldier will continue to serve to preserve your freedoms also.
Next May when we celebrate Memorial Day, take a second to remember it is a day to remember the Soldiers who paid the ultimate price, before you go out to your BBQ's and games. We seemed to have lost the reason that these days were set aside, I bet there are people out there in our country that don't know what the 4th of July stands for.
Thanks for letting me have the freedom to post in this forum. Freedom is a wonderful thing but we must not abuse or take for granite.
