See you have a few Beatles albums...
Just was at a concert last night with the boys who slipped into the light as the Beatles took their "break" in the 60's...
The Monkees. Don't laugh-they were great last night (even minus Mike). Even though they started out a "commercial" group they broke away on their own and didn't bow to anyone-(Just interpret their movie HEAD) A very misunderstood group that really should have recognition for what they accomplished.

I have it on VHS
They bump into Frank Zappa leading an oxen down the street if I remember correctly
The first place Jimi Hendrix played in New England was in Framingham Mass and called The Carousel.
He was, believe it or not, opening for The Monkees.
The Monkees fans (that hadn't been experienced yet) booed him off stage so they could hear Last Train To Clarksville or something.

I remember, when I was younger I broke my parents " Meet the Beatles " record. Accidentily dropped it right on its edge ( the worst way to drop an lp ) & it cracked. They also had Beatles '65 & im very familiar w/ that one.
To this day, even 25 years later, I feel bad for breaking the "Meet the Beatles" record.

Tchaikovsky/Levine/CSO ~ 6th Symphony (Pathétique)
Charlie Parker ~ The Verve Years Vol I 1948-1950 (1976 2LP)
I was watching Clapton's Crossroads festival on DVR the other night and diggin every minute of it.
He played Had to Cry Today and Dear Mr. Fantasy with Steve Winwood but they also tried to play Voodoo Child.
It was all so good but they should leave Voodoo Child to Hendrix.
Nothing wrong with their playing, very good technique and mad skills but no chills.
I get chills when I hear Jimi play Voodoo Child.
I had to play Hendrix at Woodstock, Isle Of Wight & Fillmore East DVDs just to start getting my mojo back.
I played the album version on EL then the rest of EL then started a Hendrix LP marathon.
A short April Wine detour and he's back with Band of Gypsys.
Much better.
Love ya EC & SW but leave Voodoo Child alone
Jimi Hendrix ~ In Concert (1972)
Jimi Hendrix ~ Are You Experienced (1967)
Jimi Hendrix ~ Axis: Bold as Love (1967)
Jimi Hendrix ~ Electric Ladyland (1968 2LP)
April Wine ~ Harder...Faster (1979)
April Wine ~ Nature of the Beast (1981)
Jimi Hendrix ~ Band of Gypsys (1970)
