What kind of pets yall got?
#312
I have two indoor only Kitties, Malinche & Xochitl and the Chimeranian's, Maximo & Paquita--outside I feed 4 cats as well (I also had them fixed--much to their chagrin I must say!)
I got the dogs so I wouldn't be called that crazy-cat-lady with the cool car.

My boy Kaos. He is a 14lb Mine Dachshund.
Graduating from obedience training.
My first Doxie named Leviathan, Levi for short who died 4 days after I bought him. He had Parvo when he was bought. Pet store dogs should be illegal and I have since learned a huge lesson.

haha ok... there are a lot of animals in my family.
3 dogs (Jenna is a blue merle Sheltie and she is 12, Brodie is a sable Sheltie and he is 6, Keely is a miniature American Eskimo and she will be 2 in Nov), 1 California Desert Tortoise (Torty is a 13 years old) 1 mini Lop rabbit (Summer is 3 years old and lives IN my parent's house and is litter box trained)...
and then 2 Manx cats (they have no tails) Nacho is my torty colored Manx cat and she will be 4 in Nov and Chilli Bean is my tuxedo colored Manx cat and she will be 3 in March.
The dogs, bunny, and tortoise live at my parents house. The American Eskimo and the bunny belong to my sister.
The cats are mine and live with me at my Grandpa's house.

I have three dogs - two Great Pyrenees, and one epileptic Black Lab/Greyhound mix.
Snow is on the left, and Bear is on the right. Snow is a female who is now 7 years old. She was found on the side of the road when she was a 3 and a half month old pup. She had narrowly escaped being smashed by a car, and had a slighly injured leg. I took her in, got her patched up and she has enjoyed a carefree life ever since. I got Bear a year later after losing my husky/sheltie mix companion of ten years to old age. Bear also coincidentally was 3 and a half months old when I got him, so the two are exactly one year apart.
This guy here is Locomo, the Black Lab/Greyhound mix. He is the oldie at 11 years old. He was seized from a drug addict family member. He is the poster child as to how bad pot actually is. After living in a continual thick, choking fog of pot smoke for several years, he started having seizures. This dog was as lifeless as an animal could get and still be living, when he was removed from the junkie family member's house. As he began to detox, you could see daily improvements in his energy. Today, his energy belies his age. This picture was taken about 17 months ago, and approximately two weeks after getting him out of that environment. Unfortunately, the siezures continue to haunt him, and combined with his age, it is anyone's guess how much longer he willl be around.

I have three cats, all SPCA rescues. Two were near death and probably would not have survived much longer if not adopted by a good home....
Ringo: Gray SH Male, nearly 7 years old, nicest cat I have ever had. So nice the other two females abuse the heck out of him.
Skittles: B&W SH Female 6 years old, never seen a animal so broken when we adopted her. Elderly owner had died and she really did not do well at the SPCA, has gained six lbs since we got her. We call her Skitty and she lives up to her name. Not to be trusted, she will whack you one when you least expect it...
Dahlia: B&W SH Female 4 years old, she was 18 months old and only weighed five lbs when we got her. It was real touch and go that she would make it. Now a healthy 9.5 lbs she behaves like an eternal kitten. Keeps the other two active. Dahlia thinks my feet are prey when I am sleeping.... Skittles guards me all night to protect me from her....

Rescue dogs are smart, bundles of fun, and live 18 yrs plus (in our experience) Let's hear it for "mutts"
Age 16 and can still climb straight up a vertical creekbank in pursuit of a rabbit you go girl!
