The last music thread was back from 2008. I think this a good time to update it as I am sure we have had a lot of new members join since then. So what do you like to listen to?

For Me:

Pretty much anything from the 50's to the present any genre:
I have been always into the the mid 60's to the the late 80's rock. Recently, I have been into country music.

Pretty much name any type of genre and I could tell you which artist I think is good and which I don't care for.

I would just like to know what type of music; does everyone enjoy?

I just got an external hard drive back from my cousin , That he loaded 429 GB
of music, Every - zep, rush, floyd, ac/dc, slayer, j.cash, ECT.
I'll listen to just about anything, Except country.
Mostly metal.

Name something, Its probally on there. 62 frank zappa albums,
45 plus grt dead albums, I've just begun to dig into it.
It's like x-mas.

 

My radio has been on XM 5 or 6 since I got my HHR. I don't even know if my cd player works. The HHR is the first car I have had with XM. I renewed the XM before the trial ran out, I didn't want to wait for special offers.

I made a 40 cd classic rock "mix tape" that I keep in the car at all times.
From Eric Burdon Spill that Wine and Uriah Heep Stealin to Muddy Waters Mannish Boy & Billy Thorpe Children of the Sun.
I'll listen to that for weeks at a time.

Then I might load up the changer with Pantera, Metallica & BLS.
Then the first 6 Skynyrd.
Then Beethoven's Symphonies with John Elliot Gardiner.
Then Shooter Jennings and Bocephus.
Or Marvin Gaye, Hendrix & Funkadelic.
I like Miles Davis, Trane & Bird but not all of it.

Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter & Ludwig over BB King, Clapton & Mozart.
I like BB, Eric & Amadeus' precision but like RAW punch in the face and twist your heart passion better.

Beethoven's 9th Symphony is my favorite piece of music.
Howlin Wolf Evil, BTO Not Fragile, Ten Years After SSSSH, Doobie Bros The Captain & Me & Molly Hatchet Bounty Hunter are a close tie for second.

HW, BTO, TYA, DB & MH are subject to change but the 9th is and will always be #1.

In other words I like a lot of stuff but don't like rap, dance or techno.

 

The HHR prefers ZZ Top..........

 

Me too!! I don't think everyone would like the music I listen to. Too new, too modern!! I listen to what young people listen to.... Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Kesha, you know!!! Oh well, I can understand why, that's not what most people here on the forum grew up with, I get it! But on a sidenote, I don't really dislike older music either... 60s, 70s, 80s, it's just not something I usually listen to myself.

 

Neil Young, CCR, ZZ Top, Grand Funk Railroad, Canned Heat, etc, etc...

I also listen to a lot of Buffett, Synyrd, etc...
