It’s cold out! You order the new manifold? Did you get a used one? Pretty easy job, if your handy, and it’s above 45 degrees!

I put a Walker 2.4 exhaust pipe (cat to muffler, resonator included) on my 2008 2.2 to replace the original stainless pipe, with had lasted some 10 years and over 100K. The Walker is not expected to last nearly as long, because it’s not stainless, but it was only $60-70 shipped, to the best of my recollection. The car sounded better and ran better with better mileage with the longer resonator and larger pipe. Only wish they offered stainless. All the stainless options were pricey performance systems with inappropriately large bores. I found nothing in between.

Once upon a time there was GM Performance Parts stainless system that was appropriately sized and would have been perfect, except I have no idea what it costed or when it was discontinued. Don’t know if it was spec’ed for both the 2.2 and 2.4. Bet those answers are buried in these forums. Oh yeah, and someone on Facebook recently found one.

The GMPP exhaust was a Borla item , you can contact them and offer to buy a kit. They retailed for about $650.00 back in the day , I offered $275 and they excepted but refused to ship to Canada.
the system was a little raspy, there are videos still on YouTube. The kit was to be matched up to the GMPP cold air intake kit. 2.4 litre engine.

Maybe a little over a year ago I saw a GMPP exhaust system in the wild (at least that’s what I think it was, have pic somewhere) and the muffler was stamped with a GM part number. Nice basic bl/bl LS. Tried to buy the car. Gotta find those pics. Just found a skinny 1-3/4” supposedly stainless system for $199 at a shady NJ parts site. Didn’t even both to bookmark it.

Its getting a GM manifold on it. Told the mechanic that Im not in a hurry for it, I have another vehicle to drive. It should be done today. The only exhaust work I like to do is headers on a V-8 classic car with all new system. He was familiar with the hhr system and wasnt too happy with the Dorman replacement manifold.

It’s 11 years old now, these things corrode.
