another oil change question
OK, I’ve decided that it would be economical for me to change my own oil. First problem is what engine do I have 2.2 or 2.4, how do I determine that?
Does it make a difference when buying the filter?
2006 HHR LT(2?) how do I know if I have a LT2? (I am 2nd owner)
Auto trans
Leather heated seats
Single CD radio
Running boards
17” wheels
TIA

Does not matter conventional or synthetic or blend or any mixture thereof!!!!!!! 5W30 5 Qts. Buy whatever brand or "quality" that you prefer, nothing bad will happen. Change it when your Grandfather said you should.
RTFM, it's available.
Maybe I should just say "shop around and get the most expensive oil and filter that you can find, and change it every 500 miles, just totally disregard the oil life monitor on the DIC, because GM is trying to kill you and the engine with their recommendations." OR, just read the "Owner Manual", you could save some angst.
And, I notice that you have been a member here since January 2011. Who has been changing the oil & filter, and why do you not know with what products?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but this is really old news and easily searched! And really does not make any difference, you go to the autoparts store and say "here is my make/model/VIN give me the most expensive parts that you can".
