The gap should be 0.042 inch (1.06 mm). If you're using the AC Delco Iridium plugs, you'll find they come from the factory at the correct setting, but double checking never hurts.

I just installed a set of AC Delco Iridium plugs..and to my surprise one of them had gap around .036...Glad I double checked.

Its always best to check the gaps, they might be preset from Delco, but all it takes is getting dropped somewhere to close that gap right up.
