Bolt size on lower control arm?

Does anyone know what the bolt size is for the single bolt on the lower control arm for a 2006 2LT? I went to change that today since the bushing is shot, and I didn't have a socket of the proper size. I need to go buy one tomorrow. Thanks.

I think it's actually a 13/16" - as per https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...ol-arms-44378/

A 7/8" 6-point would probably work in a pinch.

I'll double check and get back to you, it could be 21 mm also.

I'm sure all our HHR nuts and bolts would be metric.
And all of us old wrench turners know that some metric sizes and "American"
ones can be close to interchangeable.

A side note. I can't figure out why GM decided to put a few of those oddball 18mm bolts on the HHR.

Well FMG , I went back out and double checked, 13/16 12 point fits, tight and snug, 21 mm 6 point fits a little looser , my 7/8 6 point is very loose on the bolt head and might slip and round the corners so please don't use that one!!!

I did the same thing with the same results. Although I didn't even try the 7/8 cause I knew that would just be a nut head rounder.

Yeah, that one had me stumped for a few minutes while I scrounged around all my sockets. Glad we got it straightened out.

FMG - did you ever figure out how to get that cover put back in place on the trans?
edit: ahhh I see you did get it done!!!! Dare I say... "Good job"?

It is the same socket as the wheel lugnuts. Well, maybe the other end of the socket. I have a "universal" impact lug socket.
