Brake Fluid
#11
I have never worried about flushing or changing my brake fluid, and rarely even bleed them. I drive in excess of 70,000 miles a year (that's usually 1.5 brake jobs a year). Never had a fluid related failure. Not saying they don't happen, just saying TBA stores need another profit center. Last car had 280,000 miles when I changed calipers and cylinders, upon inspection I decided that I had wasted money.
YMMV.

A+ For badassbowtie!
Just one ABS module failure will change your tune forever. I've installed many... Not one of them ever flushed there system.
If you want to save money, do it your self, it's not that hard. I do mine at my house, because I too, do not want to pay what my shop charges. But I also have learned from others that had failures. Again I say. Fluid is cheap, the part that fails wont be. Even if I had a car go a million miles without ever changing the engine oil, I surely wouldn't advocate it.

It still surprises me that if brake fluid is so important there is no mention of changing it in the owners manual. They put every other thing imaginable in it.
I am due for front brakes.I will have the fluid changed then.
