I have the same part number on my new part. The inner end is splined but not removable. Maybe they make them with the stub permanently attached now?

Yes sir, I'm probably gonna go ahead and order one for driver side. Crazy how sound can originate and travel to another location.

The axel has the stub shaft with cup seal already installed, you will have to remove the old stub from the transmission. I’ve used vise grips and a pry bar, a quick movement should pop it out.

Thanks! I wondered if it would be difficult to remove if it didn't come out with the old axle.

The trick is a sudden motion to get the spring clip to release the stub . It’s easier if the opening of the ring is at 6 o’clock that way the solid area is down in the groove

A bad tire cam make a roaring noise. Always check the tires first before replacing parts due to noise.
