Changing spark plugs--what interval
My 2011 HHR has 62,000 miles on the priginal factory plugs. Runs good, mileage OK and no problems. How often do you guys (and gals) change your plugs? Do you also replace the plug wires at that time? Many thanks, James C:

My Owner Manual states 100,000 miles.

This is in line with my thinking. I got mine used with 42K on it, so I wanted to check them at about 60-65K anyway. I will probably go a bit longer this time, but it's not a hard job, and (to me) provides peace of mind. The 100K interval is going to be fine for most people, even if I am not necessarily in that camp myself.

"peace of mind" implies that you have experienced a catastrophic failure of a spark plug recently.
Exactly what do you think the result of a worn out spark plug could be?
Or maybe you think that polluting the landfill with extra heavy metals (iridium) is a good thing. Maybe it is.
