coolant temperature
Also, I've been leaving the coolant temperature reading on the dash as I drive around.
I've noticed it usually hovers around at 192 degrees but when I climb up a grade or step on the gas it can reach up to 220 degrees and rarely after that at a stop get to 230 degrees. I don't really like these numbers, so after checking it apparently has 150000 mile coolant and my car has only 130000 miles but it has been 8 years since 2007 so I'm assuming it has never been changed. Is it just old fluid not keeping the temp down? Oil has always been fine, car runs great, I have services the transmission fluid and oil at normal intervals. "not according to dash, but by mileage"
Please any thoughts?

Just a little FYI from the owners manual:
Engine Coolant
The cooling system in the vehicle is filled with
DEX-COOLŽ engine coolant. This coolant is designed to
remain in the vehicle for five years or 150,000 miles
(240 000 km), whichever occurs first.
Sounds like you could be way over due time wise.

Sorry about the long thread, but it is where I get the most help. And it never gets to 260, the highest it's been is like 232. And the fan does come on at 230.
Today driving around the average was 190 which is normal temp. It only starts climbing when I really step on the gas or going up hill and doing those things it gets to 214, but it's only gotten to 230 at a STOP after either climbing a hill or times I had to step on the gas.

So is it still normal, and a fluid flush and change is all that's needed?
As far as I know the coolant has never been changed and it's a 2007 year car so that's 8 years on the same fluid with 130000 miles.
What do you think?
