Cooling Issue
Need to know is the cooling fan a dual circuit or on and off. Overheats at Idle but works fine when A/C is turned on or at speed. Replaced all but the sensor which reads correctly on dash. Connections are good. Timing chain issue car. I bought and rebuilt with all new cooling parts. After the blades fell off the fan I had to replace the radiator, fan assy. worked fine for a few months during summer. Any thoughts?

What do you think is overheating?
Profile says 2006 so, must be LS/LT. If that is true the fan is either on or off. When the AC compressor is running the fan should be on. The fan turns on at about 217F and back off at about 180F; assuming you have a ACDelco 131-158 180F t-stat..

Timing chain issue car? Like it needed a timing chain? Did you change the chain, while in there did you change the balance shaft chain, the guides? Did you change the water pump? The Dexcool? Did you burp the coolant?
