dealer oil change

went with the dealer oil change yesterday, took them an hour... lol 30,000 inspection .. no problems car is still tight.. over 9,000 miles on the last run with mobile one.. 18 percent life left on the monitor.. oil still looked clean when hot.. engine is amazingly smooth at idle many times i cant even tell its running.. here in michigan the dealer charges just over 40.00 for a mobile one oil change. thats not bad at all. most of the quick lube places are in the 50 dollar range .. one wanted 75 for Pennzoil Platinum.. thats laughable

GM is actually supposed to allow the oil draining for 1/2 hr. This permits a full 5 qt fill to precisely full when hot.

(no offense intended) What I find laughable is even considering a quiky-lube joint..
That's asking for trouble..

A 5qt jug of M1 and filter only cost me $31

$40 for a change and inspection (if they do it) is not a bad deal, but I'm anal about doing it right, and doing it myself.

I have had bad experiences with dealership techs, so, anything maintenance-wise I can do myself, I do.

Unless I watched the dealership add the M1 oil myself, I would always wonder if I just gave 5 qts away to a tech that put dino in mine..

I'll just do my own, & save the wondering..

Yes it does, but I do more than just change the oil, I'm inspecting everything under my ride..

So I prefer doing my own.. But to each his own..
