Door Limiter?

I'm getting different names for this one part... it's the har rubber (or plastic) part between the door hinges that prevents the doors from swinging open too much. Does anyone have a name for this item, or part #?

Both front parts are creaking (the front driver's door is the worse, and a lubricant doesn't, and never did work), and they need to be replaced... and I want to find an after-market, or that part online.

Our local chevy dealership 'quoted' me $245.45 for that part (without the 8 hours it will take for their experts to replace it), and wouldn't tell me what it's called, or give me a part number. They just told me to go into the parts dept. and I can order it there.

Are you sure its the door checks that are squeaking, and not the hinges?
On a side note: Have you ever noticed dirty rusty coloured water dripping down from the door check? My left rear door is doing that......It leaves a dry brown film on the paint....
Don't mean to hijack your post....Its just this is the only other thread on this part I have seen.....lol

The hinges aren't the ones squeeking. When I opened the door, I held onto the "Door Limiter" and I can feel it creaking. There isn't any rust coloured water either.

I've seen a part, on a parts website that refers to it as a "Door Check Link"

Also you can disconnect the "door check" and then open and close your door! That will then tell you if it's the hinge or door check!

Glad to Help .....

Heya Kevin

That looks like what I need to replace.

I found this part (item number 21) on this site: http://www.tonkinonlineparts.com/sho...roduct=6095697 for $12.63. If this is the same part, it goes to show us how we're being raped by the auto manufacturers.
