Smooth- that is exactly what 'easy cut' means. Depending on the condition, if scored. Would require more of a cut aka turning on the Brake Lathe.

I have 129k on my original rear brakes. Did the fronts at about 75k and will probably do all 4 before winter comes. I inspected my drums several times and seems there is still some life left in them.

Thanks
Yes having them turned or just a light cut to clean them up.

Just an update...still haven't done this yet, but I'm noticing it more and more daily. I rotated the wheels this weekend and noticed that the rear drums still have the tin retaining clips on them, so I'm quite sure they've never been touched. Rolled 111k recently, so I'm probably past due. Brakes for this little bugger are pricey! From the searching that I've done, Advance/Autozone have them priced at $43-50 (rotors or drums!). Haven't checked Napa, but seems like most suggest that they have good parts. Might just order some stuff online. Thinking about StopTech slotted rotors for $120/pair...will keep y'all updated with search results.

Any suggestions on where to look for new drums? Also going to consider getting them turned/cut if they aren't in too bad a shape, pending inspection.

The rear drums are probably fine, check them for cracks and true, but unless you wore the shoes down to metal they are probably good and just need a touch up. Back brakes are a low wear item..... Fronts do most of the work.

I still have two with drum brakes all around, the ones on the '37 are mechanical which can bring a new meaning to "Whoa Big Fella!".
